PHNOM PENH: Prime Minister Hun Sen has ordered the Ministry of Health to set up the Techo Santepheap National Hospital as a place to treat injured athletes for free during sports competitions.
Prime Minister Hun Sen wrote on his Facebook page on Wednesday morning, 15 February 2023, that this decision was made based on the fact that some athletes experience difficulty seeking treatment at hospitals due to financial constraints.
“Seeing such difficulties, this morning, I discussed, with HE Mam Bunheng (Minister of Health) and HE Yok Sambath, preparing a place for athletes to receive treatment at the Techo Santepheap National Hospital, which has 100 to 200 beds," wrote the Prime Minister. "Treatment will not require payment and must be specialized to the condition of the injury.”
Prime Minister Hun Sen ordered the Ministry of Health to prepare this as soon as possible so that athletes participating in the upcoming Southeast Asian (SEA) Games can use this hospital as needed.
"Please, athletes, accept medical services at this hospital with satisfaction," he added.
